The Indian foundry industry caters to the needs of a wide range of
industries and is one of the most important sectors shaping the
Indian economy.

largest in the world after USA, China, Japan, Russia & Germany

employed India is the second largest player in the foundry industry

approximately 90% are in the small scale.

Indian foundry industry has a sizeable
export turnover of goods valued at Rs 2,000 crore per year. The
growth in the Industry is primarily due to growth in the auto
component industry with a staggering market size of $650 - $700
billion.
With the new liberalized polices of
Govt. of India, Foundries have taken a new shape to cater to the
present domestic and export demand of the country.
At present, the industry is growing at 6% a year, but we are
determined to increase this to over 20% by 2010. Keeping in view the
importance of this sector IIF and YA Tradefair Pvt. Ltd. are
organizing Foundrex India 2006 at Pune, with the support from the
Industry and other important associations from India and abroad.
